It's difficult for the Earth to indulge in ;large changes in the spin axis, given the controlling influence of the Moon. Mars is different and did undergo very different climatic episodes, which we are still struggling to understand.

The ice age thingy is the Neoproterozoic Snowball Earth. Sorry, I'm in a jargon-rich mode this weekend - trying to be precise.

How's that wonderful family of yours doing these days, btw? Is your son aiming for something particular for next year?
