Backyard Search for Asteroids and Extrasolar Planets

Sounds like the Planetary Society and SFF should put their amatuer funding efforts into expanding such systems. What do the astronomer posters here both amateur and professional think?

Everyone please ignore the clearly nonastronomer blowhard self professed expert reply likely to appear. Let's try and save space for those that know something about using telescopes.
