What is the Mars Society's policy towards cydonuts

I remember reading on the Internet after the last MS convention that cydonuts were allowed to present material at the convention and were shown far more respect than they deserved. I was very disappointed when I read that. It seems to me the Mars Society should show zero tolerance towards cydonuts. Any comments?
