6 Trillion Megaton Bomb

Hi Guys

A back-of-the-envelope estimate to blow the moon to bits is 6 trillion megatons TNT equivalent in energy. Hmmm... that's a 264 km diameter Kuiper Belt cometoid smacking into the Moon at 50 km/s, or a 75 million ton chunk of antimatter. Hard to arrange for an excavation job - geez Hollywood is STUPID!
