Too time consuming. But you can easily imagine a flying wing (very high aspect ratio) carrying a rocket up to 60,000 - 80,000 feet altitude under power. Helios is a bad example, but demonstrates rather well that aircraft can fly up to 100,000 feet (30 km) high.
