Indeed, Del, as on november 9 1967, Apollo 4 was an all up test of all the stages tested together at once!

It payed off and the Moon got a lot closer.
(I think it's this picture that was used on the box of my Saturn-Apollo rocket model (1/96th scale); but it's been long ago thrown out.
