From a Jewish prayerbook:

"A man's origin is from dust and his destiny is back to dust, a the risk of his life he earns his bread; he is likened to a broken shard, withering grass, a fading flower, a passing shade, a dissipating cloud, a blowing wind, flying dust, and a fleeting dream."

Probably true for "MAN", too. The inevitable is that the material aspects of life as we know it will be gone someday. Period. "Quark to quark, wave to wave", so to speak.

Shorter term, wherever you go, that's where you are. If we can't make it on Earth after billions of years of evolution, we can't make it anywhere. We'll carry the seeds of our own destruction everywhere. (Think some lucky conservative will wind up owning it all, and we'll call him "King"?)

We may as well plan on leaving this planet and staying "Man" as leaving our bodies and staying "ourselves". Ain't gonna happen. "It", like each of us, will all be gone someday no matter what.
