Well yes it is of course Venus. It’s been sitting up there in the southwest very bright for weeks. It has been overcast a lot here in the south bay area of L.A., and when there is a clear night or two it stands out. People just have a hard time with it being so bright. Because of that, it is the object most often mistaken for UFOs.
