engineer this...

"This one's close to home. Surprise, surprise but enviro scientests made "mistakes" that led to the destruction of local industry and livelihoods. Oh but it was for the righ reasons."

Hmm, 5.5 feet of cable eh? This is the mistake that led to the "destruction
of local industry and livelihoods"?

The fact that the fish are being sucked out of the water as if with a shop vac at an unprecedented rate from depleted stocks doesn't make one think that it might be time to fish with a little restraint?

What are all the destroyed local industry and livelihoods gonna do if the Cod population drops to the point that there aren't enough damn fish to spawn effectively?

Just keep harvesting like nothings wrong right? Till it crashes, then blame those pesky "enviro-scientests" for not having warned us?

Reality check:

People loose livelihoods all the time, buggy whip makers, gun-show dealers, corporate sycophants, what have you....

At some point you have to wake up and realize there's no fish farie sprinkling sparkley but malodorous dust to ensure a sizable harvest every year.
