Beats the alternative
I was 12 when Apollo 11 landed on the moon. When I was 8 or 9, I got to watch a Saturn V first stage being static tested from 3 miles away. It was very cool.
As for growing older, it beats the alternative. The only alternative to growing older is to die. All things considered, growing older isn't so bad.
