Who saw the Supercroc show on National Geographic?
They were talking about a naturally occurring antibiotic in a crocodile's blood. Even though crocs live in putrid, stagnant water and give each other serious wounds in battles, infections are unheard of. Put a Human with so much as a paper cut in water like that, and we'd be dead within a couple of days. The amazing part is that unlike penicillin, which as been around for around 60 years, this stuff as been around for over 100 million years and it's still just as effective. Various researchers are trying to isolate the genes for this compound.
Lee, (I wouldn't mind having them placed within my own genome.)
