If i remeber rightly there a silican replacement gamaacidnide (russia for one produced it on mir) that is not effected by e-fileds. and before you worry about e-bombs solar flares cause the same effect when they hit earth from time to time. not mentioning static dischange cost industry alot of money everyear by crashing systems (one telecom company changed a persons job because her static charge kept bring the switch board down) they only relised this when everything was okay when they had a holiday.
