EM fields do not turn wires into heating elements best way to think of it is static when you touch the side of the car and your not earthed you get zaped this is what happens to computer chips and memory chips. I,m not sure battires would be effected but silican will be or smart battires.

yes they are destructive but only limited
thats why military fighter jets don't rely on ECM to stop missles and after burners and a shudden climb or dive are still done.
