That just happened in my neck of the woods. Just south of Arco Arena (Sacramento Kings), out in what was BFE for many a year, there was an airfield, Natomas Airstrip, that my godfather used to give me flying lessons out of with his Champ when I was a teenager.

That strip had been there 50 years, and one of the main buildings was one of the original buildings from when the now-closed McClellan AFB that was relocated there in the 50s. A little bit of history there...

A new housing development was built right next to the strip two years ago, and after sitting in rice patties and cornfields for over 50 years, minding its own business, it was FORCED shut down by the new "neighbors" because of noise.

Oh ya, I forgot to mention, I-5 is only about 300 feet away, as if an interstate freeway isn't loud enough...

Bastards... all of 'em...
