A side thought on the Alpha Centauri System
Here is something to think about in relation to the Alpha Centauri System. Viewed from Alpha Centauri, the sky would appear very much as it does to us with most of the constellations such as Ursa Major and Orion being unchanged. However, Centaurus would be missing its brightest star and Cassiopeia would be home to a bright star in the form of Sol, our Sun.
There could very well be one or more Earth-like planets in this system. Such planets would have a night sky very simular to our own. Humans will have to travel much farther than this system to see ‘new’ constellations.
