Obviously, serious mars researchers should be easily disguishable from 'you'.

You have completely redefined the concept of mars 'crank'. It doesn't matter what you like or don't like. Science works differently than that.

One does not go directly from hot scalding rain to cold and dry. It's a fairly continuous transformation. However, the converse may apply, the transformation from cold and dry to hot scalding rain may be fairly abrupt.
