"There was an approximately 1 megaton event over Greenland in 1997."

Around this time on sci.space.science, someone posted that a POES satellite picked up a hot-spot in the same region. Also, I think a security camera in Iceland picked up the flash. Scientific American did an article about an expedition to find meteorites from this event, I think. I never actually read it.
