Re: The Moon, Saturn, Jupiter

That's a good telescope you have Raoul, almost 400X viewing with your barlow? I lose details of features and overall sharpness beyond 300X but that could be due to light pollution in my area and my telescope is a 1984 model.

We had clear skies so I took advantage of the break from the rains. There was a glow around the Moon so seeing wasn't all that great. When viewing the full Moon I pay attention to the outer limb mostly in the south of the huge mountains Doerfel and Liebnitz. I'm not sure what craters at the edge of the limb I spotted but one was showing its central peak to tell me it must be tall.

Saturn was indeed showing the broadness of the rings, but I couldn't see the Cassinni division. Three moons and a faint point of light northeast of Saturn, not sure it was a moon or a distant star.
