Clearly "idiot" isn't the term.
Not only is it not accurate, but it might reflect poorly on real "idiots".
There are terms, such as materialistic, etc., which would apply across the spectrum, but lacking intelligence probably wouldn't be accurate.
Wanting to follow the herd, such as "Dittoheads", might fit.
Better stop.
