Re: Solid fuels
No.
Because he used liquid fuels on his V2.
Liquid fuels are hard to store, take time to fill up the rocket, but they are much more interesting if the aim is to go to space or to the Moon. Von Braun was inspired by the silent movie "Frau im Mond" and all he was interested in was to go there (the Moon). He was even arrested by the Gestapo for that reason (for a while).
If he had only been concerned about the destructiveness of the rockets and their quick availability, he would have designed them with solid fuel in mind (no need to take time to fill up, no storage problems, much faster use.
