Our transport minister is an ecologist and she is doing a fine job. There's the issue of planes making too much noise above residential areas around the airport near Brussels. If they cancel night flights, thousands will loose jobs.
The Francorchamps formula one grand prix was lost this year (2003 and the future) because as a matter of principle, MP's refused to exonerate publicity for cigarettes during such an event, from a law aimed at forbidding to advertize smoking.
Also, Belgium has decided to decommission its nuclear plants for 2015, to be replaced by wind energy.
I only hope they made the right calculations.
