I don't know how it goes on in the States, but over here it's kind of gloomy.
I asked a colleague to ask a question to someone responsible when she visited the backgrounds of a movie complex. Apparently, the only Imax Theatre in Belgium isn't cost effective and will stop working in a short while. It's very rarely a filled up theatre, true enough. They're thinking about new technologies to replace it.
But what about the number of people going to see Imax movies in the US? Is it cost effective?
Or is there an urgent need for new technologies too? (I'm not sure what it means "new technologies", perhaps "digital"..)
