I think it is amazing zero gee doesnt mean certain death.... Yes it causes some problems and yes extended exposure makes returning problematic.... but we can survive months and years with no gravity...
THAT is what astounds me... I have heard arguments that we are decended from life that lived in the sea, and so "weightlessness" is "natural"... this is flawed...there is little in common between neutral density and zero G.... gravity still acts on those floating in the sea..still keeps the fluids in the cells separated by their density...
Light a candle in a sub, it burns... Light a candle in orbit and it will smother itself... No convection, no separation of dense and less dense
Not trying to make too big a deal about this, but the only thing that has been constant throughout evolution is our gravity... and we seem to do ok without it.... seems very strange to me! Am I the only one that feels this way?
If I am missing something then please tell me...otherwise it would seem we are damn lucky!
