This is the space shuttle - a symbol of America's prestige and technological superiority.

Sabotoging space launches is not beyond foreign services (or domestic agencies) reach. This flight had extra security because it was determined to be a target by US intelligence agencies. Unfortunately, that means there were likely people around it that normally weren't. Sometimes extra security means less security.

Yes, no ground based missile could have taken them out at that altitude.

I hope it is just an accident. However, it is equally close minded to believe that as we are about to go to war with Iraq, have increased hostilities in the Israel/Palestine area that it is absolutely not a deliberate attempt at terrorism - directed at Israel and the United States.

If someone is responsible - I want them brought to justice.
