A question on experiments
This was mentioned also in the commentary in Simberg's column. How many of the experiments on board transmitted results to Earth, and how many had the results stowed away for the return? May not seem important compared to the loss of the astronauts, but speaking as someone who once burned about a year of my life designing a Shuttle payload, I know the blood, sweat and tears involved in designing, building, certifying, and launching even a small Shuttle experiment. A lot of people on Earth had a lot invested in them.
