No heat shields required....
Where Columbia broke up at 60-km altitude and Mach 18, the skyhook I designed specifies a re-entry drone that flies at only Mach 3 at around 200,000 feet. In fact even above 100 km it still is only flying at Mach 4.5. Speeds are far lower, and there is no need for heat shielding or tiles.
