Yep, For me (see my post 'Re: Shuttle Tile Design' http://www.habitablezone.com/space/messages/30411.html), that is the most impressive argument for the *success* of the tiles and of the launch system in general. I am floored that the shuttle does what it does as reliably as it does. Not bad for a political and functional compromise system designed in the 70's by a committe and fielded in the 80's in the middle of a storm of budget scalebacks.
