Raoul, I remember waiting at Edwards all day for STS-9 to land. It was delayed due to a computer glitch. It finally came down late in the afternoon. Fortunately this was the time we were able to wait near the main base and not out in the boondocks. We were able to go into the base and see lots of static displays. It was set up like an air show.
