Mike contacted me by email a couple of days ago with this request, which he indicated is for a paper he's working on. I suggested that he post messages like this one on various boards in the spirit of collaboration with other Mars researchers. The idea is to let other people know what you're looking for, and they'll do the same, to multiply the number of eyeballs on the lookout for features like dendritic patterns. There are too many images for one person to examine, and there's no database cataloging image features (that I know of).
In other words, "I'll keep an eye peeled for [your feature of interest] if you'll keep an eye out for [my feature of interest]".
Sounds like I should set up a BBS on marsglobalsurveyor.com for this purpose. But for now, I'd consider it a public service if you could find it in your heart to help Mike.
