I skimmed those posts. The problem is the premise- NASA operating and/or developing a space launcher. In NASA long record it's proven (once again) that govt shouldn't doing this type of activity. We don't need a Shuttle II. We need NASA to get out of the business of launching rockets.
One way NASA should start getting out of the business is by buying launches from private sector. And doing things which would encourage the private sector to develop a launch capablity that NASA can use.
