A sickening and short-sighted response. What if Lance Bass, by making an orbital excursion, made space "cool" and it enjoyed a renaissance among younger people with the most disposable income for their generation? What if, through his corporate sponsorship efforts, other companies and individuals began considering or taking space commercialization seriously? The micropscopic space tourism "market" can definitely do with more wealthy people like Lance Bass, as can Russia's deteriorating space sector. Unlike you, Bass actually has some ability to influence typically jaded youth in a positive way about space, plus the financial contacts and/or personal wealth to afford an orbital excursion and hopefully pave the way for others, like Tito and Shuttleworth before him.

Hey, it may never happen, but saying he deserves to die like the doomed Columbia astronauts.....disgusting.
