Superoxides and H2O2 are incredibly liable to UV, they beak down as fast as they could form.
As I said, no "proof" exists for either on Mars "yet". However, with the new evidence for water, I would say occams razor now favors a life explanation for the Viking LR results. Beagle 2 should be interesting eh? It also has an oxidant sensor too as well as a microscope, mossbauer spectrometer and a sensitive organic analysis package that can look at various isotopes. We are going to learn some interesting things come January 2004, if Beagle 2 survives the journey.
