I don't know what to make of your post. GreenHab is in use.
The post you site is from Doctor William Clancey's tenure as Captain during rotation 16 of MDRS (3/30 to 4/12). We are now into the fifth day of the next rotation! BTW, Bill works at NASA/Ames on Agent stuff...I note you had no comments when I posted about this rotation's work a few days ago... Maybe because they did science which gets published in peer reviewed journals and have high praise for MDRS as a analog worksite!
The GreenHab is a work in progress...it has shit in the system. Strangely, its not supposed to smell good or anything like that...so I don't quit get how its a failure...
Please, tell us in detail exactly what part of it is a failure.

Water Officer Report
Simone Kosol Reporting
Water: refill of the internal tank: at 19:00 from 5 to 55 gallons.
We made the toilet flush running and the pump to refill the tank for it.
GreenHab: we started the greywater-system and cleaned the tanks 2,3,4,5 of algae, We needed some water to make these systems run again, so I do not think we will need so much water the next days.

PS I've heard from a good friend that the Mars Institute is now setup to take membership donations...and of course as always so is the Mars Society...8-)
