what especially amazes me is the power fo the state to just up and take children. It is usually applied as 'take first, ask questions later'. And when the evidence usually piles up, the parents are innocent but the dammage has been done to the whole family.
Furthermore I don't buy into this idea that 'children are totally incompitent until they are 18'. Hello?! I learned at 12 that I had much better judgement that many 'adults'. I always resented those laws and thought they treated those under 18 as subhuman.
