written by a former Greenpeace supporter who took the time to actually analyze the evidence. The author decries the tendency of the greens to always take an unnecessarily gloomy view of the environment.

At 44, I'm old enough to remember how things were before emissions restrictions were in place. Cars burned leaded gas and spewed a lot of pollution. Factories and powerplants freely pumped pollution into the air and water every day. Toxic wastes were dumped whereever anyone wanted without thought of the effects. Things are better now. I'm not saying there is no pollution or any more problems but things were a lot worse in years past. There is room for hope.
On a side note, I saw on old VW bug last month with an "Earth First" bumper sticker. I had to laugh. Those old cars emit far more pollution than modern cars. A single 1960s cars pollutes as much as 400 modern cars. They even pollute more than the much hated SUVs. While I'm sure the bug driver thought himself morally superior, he was just demonstrating his ignorance.
Excellent article about environmentalist hysteria
