Gary Condit has truly disgraced his office. NOT because he had an extramarital affair and didn't want to admit it, but because he placed his own political self-interest over the very life of someone else, especially someone he apparently was close to. This incident would have been no one else in the world's G.D. business had this not been a case where one of the people involved was missing and possibly worse. Condit is a true scum bag for not doing everything in his power to help find Chandra Levy, with whom he had an intimate relationship with. His every action since this story has unfolded has been disingenuous and deceptive. The trail has grown cold and his actions make it plausible that this is what he wanted. A very unsettling thought.
