How 'bout this:
Most people have 1 or 2 addresses they post from. I have 2, home and work. My guess is Justin and Robert pretty much know everybody's IP addresses.
Rather than encrypt into another #, couldnt you write a script that translates that number into names or initials?
If (207.53.131.210) then (SDG)
That way its open and clear who is doing the posting and no IP addresses are compromised. Of course this would require that Justin keep a database of IP addresses that needs to be updated with new IP addreses. When a new user posts with an unrecognized IP, it could just translate into (unknown) until that user requests to be added to the database.
Of course if more than 1 user uses the same IP adress this wouldn't work, or if the IP address changes slightly every time they log on. So maybe this is more hassle than its worth.
