Good post, and a lot of good points. I misinterpreted your statement on treatment. Obviously, treatment in these cases would be properly applied in a prison or confinement hospital.

Assuming this does not turn out to be some kind of horrible scheme--and I still have my small suspicions--and assuming Yates is properly diagnosed, I would not advocate the death penalty for her, and neither would most reasonable people. On the other hand, six months of "treatment" and releasing her on the streets would not be appropriate either. She should never breath free air again, and should her mind ever return to normal perception, she would probably agree with me, assuming she could be kept from putting a bullet in her own brain.

My main concern with this is that the whole case is being used as ammunition for the usual left-wing crap. It's a great opportunity--they can slam Patriarch Amerika, Oppressed Womyn and the lack of Socialized Medicine with a single shot.
