If I were our enemy, I would get the word out that the terrible loss of innocent life has moderated my views and I am willing to call a truce and pursue my goals in a more peaceful way. This tactic (kings X) is not unheard of and an offer of truce is always more attractive to those that have not suffered.

If this were done there would even be a minority of our own that would call for peace and I fear that some of our friends would buy it completely.

IMO (and I am confident that I am in the majority) we must have retribution and even an honest offer to cease and desist would not suffice. I would not even be satisfied if they offered to give up Bin Laden. All of the factions that support terrorism must be E-RAD-I-CATED.

For those that say it's not easy to eradicate something, I say ask Carthage if you can find a Carthaginian. It can be done if we have the will to do it.
