Stories on evacuation vary. Many survivors from the second tower say they were led to believe that they could safely return to work. Those who did probably died. To be fair, given the most reasonable assumption based on limited information (an accidental plane collision with the first tower, not an act of terrorism), this presumption of the second tower being safe is understandable. More paranoid people, like myself, may have realized that after a fire fed by jet fuel had burned long enough, the first tower would have collapsed. I would have left. Many apparently did, despite reassurances.

I am looking forward to hearing new numbers on casualties. Hoping for the best.
