What do we do after the wreckage is cleared?
My call on it is that the World Trade Center should be rebuilt, better than ever. If they wreck it again, we'll build it again.
Some, like Roger Ebert, think that the site should become a memorial, and he makes a good case.
What do you think? Should this ground be bare forever? Would that be a defeat? Should an even bigger skyscraper rise there? Would that show lack of respect? Thousands of skyscrapers and new buildings have risen on the bones of war and disaster. Look at Hiroshima, or Lebanon.
Which approach makes the better statement?
