Now, you're not really suggesting that bin Laden lives in Afghanistan without his forces -- are you?

As it currently stands, bin Laden is A target, not THE target. We are taking the network down, wherever it happens to be. If that should involve the poor Afghan citizens, it will. The smart ones are leaving.

See, this isn't going to be another Operation Just Cause, because here we have a nation where approx. 95% of the controlled region accepts bin Laden as a "good citizen". In Panama, 95% of the population wanted Noriega ousted, and they assisted us valiantly.

If I should go into an area to clean out the vipers that have attacked my family, and the poor people living with the vipers should attack me, guess what. They go down.

Put the viper in my sights, and I'll let you be my friend. Hide him from me, and I'll shoot through you to get him. I might be saddened that I had to -- but eventually that will pass.
