On TV interviews with young men, I've heard many say they wouldn't enlist and no, they would not be willing to die for anyone else, or for our freedom. It is a different generation's "take" on America's privileges.

I heard an Arab-American today on C-SPAN say he is in wonder, and outraged that the great USA is humbled by a rag-tag band of people in the desert, that we should not let them intimidate this great country ... I can NOT get my mind about this horror ... we ARE a changed people in that the innocence IS gone ... our country IS able to be attacked from the outside ... this has never happened. Ever. We will, with this coalition, be in a war for years ... it had better "work", because I do feel that if we do not succeed, this "rag-tag" band will attack every country in turn. Next hit will not be plain though; we must raise our "imagination" to the level of his. Isn't bin Laden's goal to take over the world and make it all Islamic? I believe that is in his manifesto. But it will be, don't you think, a Special Forces type of war with precise intel and insertion?

The enlistment issue is purely trash-news, with the media already undermining the nation. Find the controversy and exploit it to the max. Let's see how many people we can get into Canada before the draft is reinstated.

An SF war? I would have to agree. This is going to be hot, dirty, quiet -- or incredibly bad.
