but will these opposition groups really be much better in the long run than the Taliban? It's entirely possible we might exchange one group of despotic leaders for another. It wouldn't be the first time this has happened. At one time, we were somewhat friendly with Iraq because they were the enemies of Iran. Look where that got us.
