Russia makes it legal to buy and sell property
This astonished me. I am embarrassed to admit that I did not know that, after all the failures of socialism, it was still illegal to buy, sell and own land in Russia. Even now, this obvious freedom is only restricted to urban land.
This goes a long way to explaining in my mind why Russia is still in the economic toilet. Good God, what does it take for some people to get a clue?
