In a post earlier made by Phil, a very intesting URL was provided:

Like many others on this board, I enjoyed reading the erudite abuse directed towards Noam Chomsy. For most of my adult life I have tried to understand Noam Chomsky. He's incredibly intelligent and very highly educated. He's a professor of linguistics at MIT which means he has some of the brightest students in the world. He also has access to some of the world's finest research libraries and is surrounded by many of the world's most brilliant intellectuals. Given the environment that he works in daily, he should be "correct" most of the time by simple osmosis. However (putting it nicely) his politics is sophmoric at best and down right stupid most of the time. He can be summarized as knee-jerk anti-American, anti-capitalist, anti-western civilization. He will defend any group or ideology that is openly anti-American. What's with this guy? Is it simple arrogance, i.e. he thinks he's right and everyone else is wrong? Could it be that he craves the lime light by practicing politics that he knows is highly offensive. I do not understand this guy. However I find it very disturbing that someone so bright could be so wrong.

Anyone understand Noam Chomsky?
