There are well over a billion Moslems on Earth. I've heard the number is as high as 1.6 billion. They come from dozens of nations and consist of every racial group known to man. This particular set of attacks was conducted by 19 Middle Eastern men. We'd be foolish to think that profiling Middle Eastern men would stop attacks by Islamic extremists. The next attack could just as easily be conducted by Asians from Indonesia or the Philippines. For that matter, it could be done by some blond haired blue eyed guy who looks like your neighbor.
There are reasonable actions that we can do, such as screening people who come here on student visas (500,000 a year) and monitoring to determine if they're actually attending college. From what I've read, three of the hijackers came here on student visas and never attended class. However, racial profiling is both offensive from a civil liberties perspective and probably ineffective, given the diversity of the opposition. It seems a knee-jerk reaction instead of doing something proactive.

IMO, Profiling wouldn't be very effective
