I suppose they believe doing nothing is better?

Look, everyone knows those food drops are minuscule compared to the need. Still, name any other nation in history that has put their military members lives at risk to drop food to a nation's population at the same time they've been attacking the government. To the best of my knowledge, this is unprecedented.

Airdrops are an expensive and inefficient way to distribute food. However, lacking much in the way of an infrastructure and distribution network on the ground, what are the alternatives? I want to hear specifics - what do these groups suggest? It's easy for them to look down from their Ivory Towers and high horses on our admittedly puny efforts, but what concrete suggestions do they have at solving the problem? Are they willing to go into Afghanistan to set up a distribution network, especially after the ever lovable Taliban kicked out foreign aid workers weeks ago? Let's hear some ideas. Time for them to put up or shut up. Unless they have a better idea and are willing to commit to action, they can take their criticism and put it where the sun doesn't shine.
