I wish I had 1/10th of her writing ability
She's a great writer, very effective at communicating ideas and stimulating thought. That's a valuable gift.
I experienced firsthand the kind of thing she wrote about when I held a door open for a young woman one day. She snapped back some snotty remark and frankly, I was temped to slam the door in her face. Funny how an act of courtesy, a kindness between strangers, was somehow seen as a put down by the likes of her. Courtesy is a lubricant that eases the frictions of society. I credit acts by women like her with coarsening society and making things less pleasant for everyone.
