The largest deficit during the Reagan years (all constant 2005 dollars) was $385 billion. At that time, the Federal budget was less than half what it is now.
The smallest deficit under Obama to date has been $1.12 trillion, and from Obama's current budget there is no sign that the curve is bending away from deficits in that range for the next ten years. Think this might have a little bit to do with the importance of the issue in Gallup's polls?
Interesting no liberal ever points out the economy Reagan "inherited," which is the constant excuse for Obama's deficits.
